It’s love at first sip! Nothing beats a smoothie made with fresh ingredients. It's the absolute best way to add nutritional 'bang' to the start of your day or post-workout, and an excellent way to get in those oh-so-important-for-health omegas.
This is one of the very first Udo's Choice recipes we developed and we love it as much now as we did back then. If you're wanting to expand your smoothie repertoire, you should definitely also try our Mango Lassi With Fresh Turmeric Root, Emma Stone's Post-Workout Udo's Oil Shake, and our Triple Berry Blast Smoothie (coming soon). All these smoothie recipes include our award-winning Udo's Oil 3·6·9 Blend, one simple way to get your daily omegas.
Essential fatty acids (or EFAs) omega-3 linolenic acid and omega-6 linoleic acid play many important biological roles in our body, and therefore our health. Our bodies can make all the fats they need from carbohydrates and proteins but cannot synthesize either omega-3 or omega-6 from other nutrients. Hence, they are called "essential" and we need to get them directly from our diet.
These two essential fatty acids are responsible for vital biological functions in every cell including membrane structure, growth and division, gene expression, cell-to-cell communication, hormone production, receptor function and energy production.
Most people are not getting as many EFAs as they should be. Sufficient EFA levels are critical to the optimal functioning of the brain, liver, kidneys, heart, and all other glands and organs. The good news is, it's a simple fix.
We created Udo's Oil Blend to provide you with all the good fats you need and none of the bad fats you should be avoiding. Fresh, certified organic, plant-based omegas, made to preserve and protect all the healthful benefits essential fatty acids provide. And on that note: ready, set, blend!
